SUMAGOT na ang Tape Inc. sa reklamong inihain ng TVJ laban sa kumpanya.
In-address ng Tape ang kanilang complaint kina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon.
Ayon sa “24 Oras,” TVJ filed a copyright infringement and unfair competition complaint before the Marikina Regional Trial Court.
Ayon kay Atty. Maggie Garduque, ang legal counsel ng Tape: “Eat Bulaga name, design and logo is a “trademark” and not subject of copyright.’
“TVJ’s petition for cancellation of Eat Bulaga trademark is still pending, ” dagdag pa ni Atty. Garduque.
Paliwanag pa ng abogado, ang TAPE ay nakarehistro sa nasabing trademark kaya ang petition ng iconic trio para sa cancellation ng Eat Bulaga trademark ay naka-pending pa rin.
“TAPE Inc. has the registration of the tradename Eat Bulaga so they cannot file infringement against the registered owner of the trademark.
“Their petition for cancellation of trademark of Eat Bulaga is still pending before the IPO and until such time that said petition is granted, the trademark Eat Bulaga and EB will be owned by TAPE Inc.”
