LEA SALONGA KINANTA ANG OWN VERSION NG ‘THE PRAYER’ SA NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT SA WASHINGTON

ISA si Lea Salonga na naimbitahan para mag-perform sa 2022 United.States National Memorial Day Concert na ginanap sa Washington D.C. kamakailan.

Idinaraos ang Memorial Day every last Monday of May bilang pagpupugay sa American military personnel na namatay sa serbisyo.


Ang concert ay naka-broadcast sa PBS and streamed online na ang hosts ay ang Hollywood actors na sina Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna.

Ang Canadian singer na si Celine Dion, ka-duet ang Italian tenor na si Andrea Bocelli, ang unang nag-perform ng “The Prayer.”


This time, Lea Salonga performed her own version ng “The Prayer” ni Josh Groban with a live orchestra.

Matatandaang naka-duet ni Lea si Groban sa “The Prayer” noong bumisita ang international singer ng mag-concert ito last February 2019 titled “Bridges Concert” sa Manila, 12 years since his last Philippine appearance.


Naka-wheelchair pa noon ang Tony award winner due to a skiing accident, but she and Groban managed to wow the crowd.

The two also performed “All I Ask Of You” from “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Sa video posted sa official Twitter account ng PBS National Memorial Day Concert, sinabi ni Lea na ang performance niya ng “The Prayer” isn’t meant for entertainment.

“For me personlly when I pray… it kind of sets my mind in a good place, as well as my spirit. So singing something like this, it feels the same,” paliwanag ng Broadway star.

In a separate video, sinabi naman ni Lea na naalala niya ang mga sundalong nakikipaglaban to protect the lands that they love.

Sa backstage ay nakita ni Lea.ang mga dati niyang kasamahan sa “Les Miserables” na sina Norm Lewis at Alfie Boe na guests din sa nasabing concert.
