PORMAL na nanumpa sa tungkulin ang mga bagong halal na opisyal ng Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC) kay Quezon City District 1 Representative Juan Carlos “Arjo” C. Atayde bilang inducting officer na tanggaoan ng actor-politician sa 25 West Avenue, Quezon City.
Nanguna sa oath taking si PMPC president Fernan de Guzman kasama ang iba pang opisyal na kinabibilangan nina Mell Navarro (vice president), Jimi Escala (secretary), Mildred Bacud (assistant secretary), Boy Romero (treasurer), Lourdes Fabian (assistant treasurer), Eric Borromeo (auditor), Leony Garcia at Glen Sibonga (public relations officers).
Kasama ring nanumpa ang board members sina Joe Barrameda, Roldan Castro, Rodel Fernando, John Fontanilla, Rommel Placente, at Francis Simeon.
Naging saksi naman sa oath taking ang mga dating Pangulo ng PMPC na sina Melba Llanera, Julie Bonifacio at Sandy Mariano.
Sa kanyang speech nagpasalamat si Rep. Arjo sa PMPC sa pagiging bahagi ng kanyang showbiz career.
“I’m grateful to PMPC as PMPC has been with me and always with me since the beginning of my career. You gave me opportunities to soar in whatever that I was doing especially in my first few years. So, I owe you guys.
“I’m blessed to be given this opportunity to oath the PMPC. I never thought this would possibly happen, but it happened. And I owe it to you guys.
“I am here to support the movie industry and all the organizations that are involved, all stakeholders that are involved in this industry. May it be in general or specifically in TV or films, I am here to help. I will help all of you as much as I can as long as I’m here. Maraming-maraming salamat po! I’m just so happy to see everyone,” pahayag ni Rep. Arjo.
Ang PMPC ang namamahala at nag-oorganisa ng taunang Star Awards for Movies, Television, at Music.
