NADISKUBRE ng Bureau of Custom (BOC) ang tatlong undocumented boats matapos na tuluyanG kumpiskahin ng Aduana ang yateng ginamit sa pagbiyahe ng 1.4 toneladang shabu na nasabat sa Alitagtag, Batangas.
Sa pakikipagtulungan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa Philippine National Police at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ay nagsagawa rin ng kanilang sariling imbestigasyon ang Aduana na nagresulta sa pagkumpiska sa private yacht na sinasabing ginamit sa pagpasok ng 1.4 tons ng shabu sa Nasugbu, Batangas.
Magugunitang nasabat ng mga awtoridad ang iligal na droga na tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng P9.68 billion sa inilatag na police checkpoint sa Alitagtag, Batangas noong April 15, 2024.
Kaugnay sa isinagawang pagsisiyasat ay nadiskubre ng BOC ang tatlo pang karagdagang pribadong yate na pag-aari din ng naarestong suspek na hinihinalang sangkot sa international drug trafficking.
Katuwang ang Port of Manila (POM) Customs Investigation and Intelligence Service Field Station (CIIS) sa pangunguna ni Intelligence Officer II Joel C. Pinawin, ay naglabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) noong June 27, 2024 ang BOC implementing team, kasama ang mga kinatawan ng POM Enforcement and Security Service sa ilalim ni District Commander Capt. Rodrigo S. Gonzales at POM Water Patrol Division sa pangunguna ni Capt. Fred Agpaoa.
Ang WSD ay inisyu ni POM District Collector Rizalino Jose Torralba laban sa mga subject vessels dahil sa paglabag sa Section 1113 of Republic Act 10863, also known as the “Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.”
Ang mga pakay na pribadong yate na kasalukuyang nakadaong sa Nasugbu, Batangas ay itu-turnover sa POM Auction and Cargo Disposal Division base sa Customs Administrative Order No. 10-2020 “Seizure and Forfeiture Proceedings and Appeals Process.”
Pinamunuan mismo ni Deputy Commissioner Juvymax Uy ng Intelligence Group at Deputy Commissioner Teddy Sandy Raval ng BOC Enforcement Group ang nasabing operation na ibinase sa intel na nakalap ni Director Verne Enciso ng CIIS kaya natukoy ang mga sangkot na undocumented private yachts.
“President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has tasked us to ensure that our borders are secure, our trade is lawful, and our communities are safe. In response, we have launched a series of comprehensive initiatives aimed at dismantling drug smuggling, among others, through eradicating customs fraud,” pahayag kahapon ni Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
“Our team is working tirelessly to collaborate closely with international partners, law enforcement agencies, and other government bodies to ensure coordinated and effective responses. Their efforts have already yielded significant results, and we are confident that, with continued vigilance, we will disrupt and dismantle these criminal operations,” dagdag pa ni Rubio.
