CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — One wounded member of the communist terrorist group was captured by the 57th Infantry Battalion troops following a brief encounter on April 2 in South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur.
The CTG members fled after the short firefight, abandoning behind their wounded comrade. Also found at the encounter site were one M16, one M14, and one caliber .45 pistol, along with assorted ammunition.
Col Jorry Baclor, AFP Chief AFP Information Officer said the encounter and seizure of firearms contributed to the end of communist armed conflict in the country, which is attributed to the successful implementation of the whole-of-nation approach. (VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ
