INATASAN ni National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon ang National Telecommunications Commission na i-block ang access sa mga websites na may kawing sa Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
Kabilang na ang mga websites ng mga progresibo, at militanteng grupo kasama ang mga independent media gaya ng Bulatlat at Pinoy Weekly.
Mabilis namang kumilos ang National Telecommunications Commission at inutusan ang mga internet services providers na i-block ang mga websites na affiliated sa CPP-NPA-NDF, maging ang mga sites ng mga progresibong grupo at independent media.
“You are hereby directed to effect the immediate blocking of the reported websites found to be affiliated to and are supporting terrorists and terrorist organizations,” ayon sa memorandum na inilbas ni Commissioner Gamalier Cordoba sa mga internet service providers .
Ibinase umano ni Sec Esperon ang kanyang direktiba sa NTC sa previous Anti-Terrorism Council resolutions designating CPP-NPA-NDF at ilang kasapi nito na itinuturing na mga terorista.
Magugunitang itinuring ng Anti-Terrorism Council ang CPP-NPA, na isang teroristang grupo kahanay ng Islamic State East Asia, Maute at ibang mga ‘terrorists’ group gaya ng Abu Sayyaf at Dawlah Islamiyah na hindi sinalungat ng Supreme court. (VICTOR BALDEMOR)
