Camp Lapulapu, Cebu City – Visayas Command (VISCOM) on Saturday welcomed the filing of murder charges against the seven identified members of Roselyn Jean Pelle Command of the New People’s Army (RJPC – NPA) who were responsible in the series of willful killings and murder in Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The legal action was undertaken by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office with the support of 79th Infantry Battalion, following the willful admittance from the said communist terrorist group on the murder of Renato Estrebillo, Rodel Nobleza, and Hon Benjamin Javoc, the Barangay Chairperson of Lalong of the said municipality.
It can be recalled that the communist terrorist group, RJPC-NPA admitted to have perpetrated the series of murders through a press statement issued on September 05, saying that they merely implemented the standing orders against criminals and counter-revolutionaries in Calatrava issued by their bogus revolutionary people’s government court.
Lieutenant General Robert C Dauz PA, the Commander of VISCOM expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families of the victims, as he assured them that the AFP ‘will closely monitor the progress of the case and will continue to work closely with the PNP so as to ensure that justice will be served swiftly.’
He added that ‘the filing of murder charges against the communist terrorist group who perpetrated the series of murders is a ‘welcome development in the government security forces’ efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice’. He further expressed that the admittance of the communist terrorist group to the series of murders in Calatrava ‘is a clear manifestation of their murderous nature with complete disregard to human rights.’
He then emphasized that “The communist terrorist group in Negros are losing their ground. They could not accept the fact that the people don’t want them anymore. That is why they resort to willful killings and murder to instill fear to the community who wanted to break free from their lies and deception.”
LtGen. Dauz ended by reaffirming its commitment, saying that, “Your Servant in the Visayas will never waver in our efforts to free our people from the menace of the communist terrorist group. We will remain steadfast in our commitment to enforce the Rule of Law while anchoring the Rule of Love in all of our operations. We will continue to be relentless until the perpetrators of this series of murders are brought to justice.”
The terrorist group, RJPC – NPA, reportedly murdered the three victims under the belief that they are military informants. Rodel Nobleza and Renato Estrebillo were murdered in Barangay Marcelo on August 07 and August 12, respectively. While Hon Benjamin Javoc was murdered on August 26 in Barangay Lalong.
