PINAYAGAN ng Taguig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) ang television host na si Vhong Navarro na maglagak ng P1 milyong bail bond sa kasong rape na isinampa laban sa kanya ng modelong si Deniece Milinette Cornejo.
“Viewed in light of all the foregoing, and taking the evidence presented in the bail hearings as a whole, this Court is not convinced at this point, that there exists a presumption great leading to the inference of the accused’s guilt,” ayon sa desisyon na may petsang Disyembre 5, 2022 ni Branch 69 Presiding Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan.
Gayunman, iginiit ng korte na ang pagbibigay ng piyansa kay Navarro ay hindi makakapigil dito bilang trial of facts, mula sa pagsasagawa ng “full blown trial” sa mga merito ng kontrobersyal na kaso.
Sumuko sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) si Navarro or Ferdinand H. Navarro sa totoong buhay, noong Set. 19 kasunod ng pagpapalabas ng warrant of arrest laban sa kanya.
Matatandaang tinanggihan din ng Court of Appeals (CA) 14th Division sa isang resolusyon noong Setyembre 20, 2022 ang mga mosyon para sa muling pagpapalabas ng isang status quo ante order na hiniling ng kampo ni Navarro.
Noong nakaraang buwan, inilipat si Navarro mula sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Detention Center sa Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) jail sa Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig matapos mag-syu ng “commitment order” ang Taguig RTC para sa akusado.
