US marine officer vows continued support to WestMinCom’s thrust

Col. Ronald Norris, Jr., the Regiment Commander, Marine Raider Regiment, Marine Forces Special Operations (MARSOC) visited the Western Mindanao Command on August 15.

Col. Elmer Suderio, the Chief of Unified Command Staff, received the distinguished visitor at the Laong Laan Hall at Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city at 3 p.m. Monday.

During their conversation, Col. Norris, Jr. said that the US forces remain true to their commitment to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines in its capability enhancement. “We will assist you by providing capability training to the Filipino soldiers.”


Col. Suderio extended his gratitude to Col. Norris, Jr. on behalf of WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. , saying, “we will make sure that our good alliance is unscathed and that the US forces are safe here in our area of operation”.

During his visit to the command, Col. Harris, Jr. took time to check on the status of the Special Operations Task Force 511.2 (SOTF 511.2) based at Camp Navarro. The purpose of the visit is to increase awareness of the SOTFs efforts in support of WestMinCom.
