An unexploded 81mm high-explosive mortar was discovered by construction workers at the Nayong Pilipino complex in Pasay City, on Saturday afternoon.
The PNP Aviation Security Explosives Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (PNP AVSECU) promptly responded, conducted a Render Safe Procedure, and safely transported the corroded mortar to AVSECU Headquarters for proper disposal.
“This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and quick response to ensure public safety. Rest assured that AVSEGROUP remains committed to securing our communities from all forms of threats,” said AVSEGROUP Director, PBGEN Jay Cumigad.
