Mayroong posibilidad na umuwi na sa bansa ang suspendidong Rep. Arnolfo Teves, Jr. sa Mayo 17, Miyerkules.
Ito ang ibinulgar ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla matapos ang ulat na nakarating sa kanya na papauwi na umano si Teves.
“May dumating na balita sa atin kanina na marahil ay papauwi na si Teves bukas. Iyon ‘yung sinabi sa akin kanina ng isang kausap ko. Si Congressman Teves ay pauwi na raw bukas ng umaga. ‘Di ko alam kung anong oras,” ayon kay Remulla.
Hindi naman nagbigay ng karagdagang detalye si Remulla sa umano’y pag-uwi ni Teves pero ito ay lalapag sa airport.
“[This] was stated to me by a reliable source or whom I consider to be a reliable source as he may have access to flight data into the country and he’s usually a very reliable source for those who come in and out of the country,” dagdag pa ni Remulla.
Magugunita na si Teves ay lumabas ng bansa matapos na isangkot sa pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo at siyam na iba pa sa Bahay nito sa Pamplona, Negros Oriental noong Marso 4.
Sa inisyal na ulat,ito ay nagpunta sa Estados Unidos ,at napaulat na nasa Cambodia bago humingi ng asylum sa Timor-Leste.
Ang asylum ni Teves ay tinanggihan at naghain ito ng motion for reconsideration.
“He can be in Timor-Leste or another country but I think it will be Timor-Leste. I think that the countries by which he can enter are already very limited considering that he’s already on Interpol notice and things are becoming more difficult for Mr. Teves to go around. At least that’s what was told to me by my reliable source,” paliwanag ni Remulla.
Binigyan -diin pa ni Remulla na natanggap Niya ang impormasyon na posibleng uuwi si Teves Martes ng hapon pero kumalat na Martes ng umaga.
Samantala, Itinanggi naman ni Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, legal counsel ni Teves ang impormasyon.
“Fake news. If it’s because of the denial of the application for asylum, I was informed that a judicial appeal shall act as a supersedeas to the five-day notice to leave,” giit ni Topacio.
Kaugnay nito, Sinabi ni Remulla na kung uuwi si Teves , makakasabay ito sa pagsasampa ng kasong. Murder ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa DOJ laban kay Teves.
“Well and good. It means that he can answer the process of law if a case is filed against him tomorrow, then it can be immediately served to him so that periods can run accordingly so he can file his counter-affidavit and the cases can be resolved by the panel of prosecutors depending on his counter-affidavit,” dagdag ni Remulla.
Samantala ay nilinaw naman ni Remulla na walang warrant of arrest si Teves at 11 suspek pa lamang ang nasasampahan ng kaso sa Korte at di pa kasama si Teves doon.
