MATAPOS na makipagkita si General James McConville, Chief of Staff ng United States Army kay General Andres Centino, ang Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines, para talakayin ang lumalakas na bilateral relationship sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Amerika ay nakipag-ugnayan ito sa pamunuan ng Philippine Army kahapon sa Fort Bonifacio Metro Manila.
Ang nasabing courtesy call ni General McConville kina Gen. Centino at PhilippineArmy chief Ltgen Romeo Brawner ay kasunod ng ginawang official working visit ni Pangulong Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos sa US at makaharap si US president Joe Biden.
“I was very excited about his recent visit to Washington D.C. as it sets the stage for a bigger and stronger relationship,” ayon pa sa U.S. general kasunod ng pahayag na bukas siya sa mas Malaking mga training exercises at high-level engagements na tanda ng lumalakas nilang alyansa.
Tiniyak din ni Gen McConville ang suporta niya sa Philippine Army nang nakaharap si LtGen. Brawner,
Nakahanda umano ang Amerika na suportahan ang Philippine Army kaugnay sa mga makabagong sandata. mga kagamitang pandigma at sabayang pagsasanay .
“We’ve been friends and allies for a long time, and I think it is important that we stay that way. In fact, [I think it’s better that] we become better friends, partners, and allies in the future,” dagdag pa ni General McConville sa kanyang courtesy call .
Kaugnay nito sinagot naman ni Gen Centino ang bumibisitang U.S Army Chief of Staff na ; “We are thankful for your commitment and your support. We appreciate you for coming here as it goes a long way in strengthening our alliance and promoting cooperation.”
