Inianunsiyo kahapon ng Manila Electric Company (Meralco) ang kumpanya na nagsumite ng ‘best bid’ para sa 1,200 megawatt (MW) supply para sa isang generation company, alinsunod sa government-mandated Competitive Selection Process (CSP).
Ayon sa Meralco, mayroong tatlong bidder na nagpahayag ng interes na lumahok sa CSP ang nagsumite ng kanilang qualification documents, technical proposal at bid price sa Meralco kamakalawa, Enero 23, 2024.
Dito umano ay ang South Premiere Power Corporation (SPPC) na power generation subsidiary ng San Miguel Corp (SMC), ang lumitaw na may pinakamababang bid para sa baseload requirement ng power distributor.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng Meralco na ang SPPC ay nag-alok ng total levelized cost ng electricity rate na P7.0718 kada kilowatt-hour (kWh) para sa buong 1,200-MW requirement.
Samantala, ang joint venture naman ng Limay Power Inc. at San Roque Hydropower Inc. ang nagsumite ng susunod na best bid na may P7.1006 kada kWh para sa 150-MW capacity.
Anang Meralco, para naman sa kapasidad na 210 MW, ang First Natgas Power. Corp. (FNPC) ay nag-alok ng rate na P8.4489 kada kWh.
Sinabi ng Meralco na ang kanilang bids committee ay nakatakda nang magsagawa ng post-qualification evaluation at magsumite ng rekomendasyon sa Board of Directors ng Meralco.
“The BAC-PSA is also set to conduct a post-qualification and submit its recommendation and report to Meralco’s Board of Directors for approval of the best bid as the winning power supplier prior to the issuance of a Notice of Award,” anang Meralco.
Dagdag pa ng Meralco, “The resulting 15-year Power Supply Agreement from this CSP—which was based on Meralco’s DOE-approved Power Supply Procurement Plan—will cover Meralco’s future capacity requirements, including the 1,000 MW (net) supply that was covered by its PSAs with change in circumstance cases that are pending resolution.”
