CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Sharing common advocacies that will contribute to nation-building, a partnership between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and ten Rotary International districts in the Philippines was welcomed to work on socio-civic programs and projects across the country.
Rotary International will work closely with the security sector through the AFP and PNP in programs anchored in Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, which include Peace Building and Conflict Prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Community Livelihood and Economic Development, and the Environment.
As part of the said partnership, a National Bloodletting Activity is set to be conducted next month, followed by the implementation of National Environmental Projects in September.
Rotary International is a worldwide socio-civic organization composed of Rotarians aiming to transform communities and fund sustainable projects. With more than 25,000 current Rotarians from the ten participating districts, the said partnership will help the organizations liaise and cooperate on notable projects and programs and promote common advocacies.
The AFP is looking forward to this partnership with Rotary International and the fulfillment of the shared mission of safeguarding the peace and security of the country.
