The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao Command, PNP’s Police Regional Office 9, and the local government of Zamboanga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Mercedez, Zamboanga City.
The MOU signing was done to formalize the partnership among government agencies for the implementation of the KALIGKASAN Program in the city and the entire Region 9.
The KALIGKASAN (Kaligtasan at Kalikasan) Program aims to facilitate environmental protection projects and showcase the impact of sharing responsibilities between and among government agencies, including the PNP, the AFP, and other stakeholders.
The historic activity was graced by the presence of Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe, PRO9 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding, WestMinCom Deputy Commander Brig. Gen. Aldrin Annani, who represented the Unit Commander Lt. Gen. William Gonzales, and KALIGKASAN National Convenor Dr. Alberto Martinez.
Police Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, The Deputy Chief PNP for Administration, presided over the MOU signing held at the Bigkis-Lahi Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City.
WestMinCom Commander, Lt. Gen. William Gonzales, said that the partnership is a good mechanism to sustain peace and promote development while working for environment protection in the region.
