NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – Sailors and Marines joined the roll of awardees during the “Tribute to Soldiers” event jointly organized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and The Manila Times at the Manila Hotel.

Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio along with AFP Chief Of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. and The Manila Times Chairman Emeritus Dante Ang presided the awarding ceremony which recognized the exceptional accomplishments of military personnel and units in time with the National Heroes’ Day commemoration.

“The partnership between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and The Manila Times for the Tribute to the Soldiers is a fitting testimony and affirmation of the importance of every soldier’s sacrifice and dedication,” said the AFP Chief.

The event was witnessed by the Philippine Navy Flag Officer In Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr as one of the honored guests in the event.

The following Philippine Navy personnel were feted during the event:

Contribution for Combat Zone Awardee – S2IT Jaime V Caguioa Jr. PN

Innovation in Administrative and Logistics Functions – DP2 Dizon G Vallesteros PN

Outstanding Community Service – SSgt Michael S Rayanon PN(M)

Achievement in Education – YN2 Lilane I Muring PN
