Rules sa anti-terrorism cases, binabalangkas na ng SC

Binabalangkas na ng Supreme Court (SC) ang mga rules sa paghawak ng anti terrorism vasr sa ilalim ng Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) of 2020.

Ito ay inihayag ni Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo matapos ang ginawang courtesy call ni United States Ambassador MaryKay Carlson kay Gesmundo noong Biyernes.


“He also cited the Anti-Terrorism Act, saying that the Court has created an Ad Hoc Committee to draft the Rules on anti-terrorism cases headed by retired Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno,” ayon SC public information office.
.
“He added that in drafting these Rules, the protection of rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the interest of the state must be balanced,” dagdag nito.

Tinalakay rin ni Gesmundo.sa naturang meeting ang inilunsad kamakailan mg SC na Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations (SPJI) para sa 2022-2027.

Ipinaliwanag ni Gesmundo na ang pagsusulong sa SPJI, “developments in technology and the revision of rules of procedure ‘go hand-in-hand’ in order to deliver responsive justice in a timely manner.”


Gayundin,ang pagdaraos ng videoconferencing hearings na nagresulta ng pagpapalaya sa maraming deprived of liberty(PDL).

Nagpasalamat rin si Gesmundo sa US government sa pagsuporta sa mga ginagawang reporma at programa ng SC. (Carl Angelo)
