Gen. Bartolome Bacarro bilang Armed Forces chief of staff ,
Sa opisyal na pahayag ni Faustino, kinumpirma nito na naghain siya ng kanyang letter of resignation sa Pangulong Bongbong Marcosm Jr. noong January 6, 2023, matapos mabatid sa mga balita at social media reports ang isinagawang oath of office para kay General Andres Centino na ibinalik bilang Chief of Staff sa Malacanang.
” With utmost respect, I submitted my irrevocable letter of resignation to the President, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., on Friday, January 6, 2023, after learning only from news and social media reports that an oath of office of the new Chief of Staff, AFP had taken place at Malacañang,” pahayag ni Faustino.
Binigyang-diin ni Faustino na ang AFP ay isang institusyon na minamahal, pinagkakatiwalaan at nirerespeto ng sambayanang Pilipino.
“The AFP is an institution that is loved, trusted, and respected by the Filipino people. It is an upright organization that is professional, highly capable and committed to protecting our country and people from all threats, whether foreign or domestic. Our dedicated and indomitable soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines value above all honor, service and patriotism – these are the ideals that we live and die for, if need be,” saad niya.
Punto pa ng dating kalihim at chief of staff na ang AFP ay highly-capable at committed sa mandato nito na protektahan ang bansa laban sa lahat ng banta, foreign man o domestic at sukdulang ipagbuwis ng buhay.”
“Thus, fully cognizant of the selfless sacrifice and courage of our troops and civilian human resources, I cannot allow the AFP’s reputation to be tarnished, maligned, or politicized. I assure everyone that I will always hold the AFP in high esteem, which its men and women have painstakingly earned”, pahayag ng dating DND OIC.
Sabi ni Faustino na ang lahat ng kanilang pagsisikap sa Kagawaran ay taos puso nilang iniaalay sa Sambayanang Pilipino at ang tanging hiling ng dating kalihim ay ang ikabubuti ng ating bansa.
” I wish nothing but the best for our country, our people, and our President. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to serve the Filipino people in my former capacity as officer-in-charge of the DND. With all humility, I am grateful and deeply indebted to each and every one of you who helped us fulfill our mandate in the Defense Department over these past months,” dagdag pa ni Faustino.
Sa kabilang dako, lubos naman ang pasasalamat ni retired AFP chief of staff Lt.Gen. Bartolome Bacarro sa mga nagtitiwala sa kaniya kasunod ng pahayag na susuportahan ng buong Sandatahang lakas ang ika-57th at 59 AFP chief of staff. (VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ)
