AFP Chief of Staff LtGen Bartolome Vicente Bacarro welcomed H.E. Mr. HOANG HUY CHUNG, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines, during the latter’s courtesy call at the General Headquarters on Wednesday, December 7.
Ambassador Hoang and CSAFP discussed security and stability and the need for an enhanced dialogue and cooperation to effectively address challenges in the region.
Both assured advancing common interests, including the security and safety of fishermen and the prevention of illegal fishing activities in respective economic zones.
Ambassador Hoang also reiterated the importance of the resumption of military cooperation in education and training of both countries, which was reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (VICTOR BALDEMOR RUIZ)
