Region XI’s Law Enforcement Beefs Up Fight Against Smuggling

Region XI’s law enforcement agencies convened to coordinate their efforts on the prosecution, investigation, and case-building against smuggling.

The Bureau of Customs, Collection District XII hosted the discussion at its Customs House in Sasa, Davao City, as part of Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio’s priority agenda to curb smuggling.

The legal procedures and compliances that must be ensured for building a solid case against smugglers were the highlight of the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the regional heads and representatives from the Department of Justice, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other law enforcement agencies.

The agencies have committed to sync and beef up their anti-smuggling efforts to fulfill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s agenda of upholding public order, safety, peace, and security and ensuring a level playing field for all businesses.
