The Philippine Fleet (PF) on Wednesday, July 19 held a sendoff ceremony for recently commissioned Fast Attack Interdiction Craft (FAIC) platforms, BRP Gener Tinangag (PG903) and BRP Domingo Deluana (PG905), at the Naval Shipyard, Naval Station Pascual Ledesma in Fort San Felipe, Cavite City.
These two new patrol gunboats are en route to the area of operations of the AFP Unified Commands in Visayas and in Western Mindanao.
Presiding the ceremony, Littoral Combat Force Commander Commo. Carlo Lagasca assured the readiness for deployment of these assets following the successful completion of their operational readiness evaluation.
“To all the personnel of PG903 and PG905, I admire you all for being ready and brave to be at the forefront against terrorism, insurgency, traditional threats, and maritime law violators,” Commo. Lagasca emphasized in his remarks.
This deployment will bolster the Navy’s conduct of maritime patrol, internal security, and logistics support operations. It likewise fulfills the Fleet’s mission to deploy assets and personnel in support of the Unified Commands’ respective areas of responsibility in the maritime waters of the Philippine archipelago.
