The Philippine Air Force’s 250th Presidential Airlift Wing continued its vital relief operations loying two Bell 412 Presidential helicopters and one Black Hawk helicopter to deliver essential supplies to communities in the Bicol Region affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
These aircraft transported aid to Bula, Camarines Sur, and Libon, Albay, both of which remain inaccessible by land due to the storm’s damage.
In collaboration with the Tactical Operations Group 5 and the Philippine Army’s 9th Infantry Division, the Air Force delivered over 300 sacks and boxes of assorted relief goods to the isolated communities, bringing much-needed support to residents still reeling from the storm’s aftermath.
This ongoing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission highlights the Air Force’s dedication to swiftly responding to communities in need, ensuring that critical supplies reach those affected by the storm in a timely and efficient manner.
OCD SENDS RAPID DEPLOYMENT TEAM
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has meanwhile sent its Rapid Deployment Team (RDT) to Naga City in Bicol to oversee the acceptance and distribution of relief items for those affected by Kristine.
“The OCD serves as the logistics coordinator for all incoming relief supplies transported via aircraft,” Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno said in a statement.
The operation commenced on Sunday, utilizing aircraft from Malaysia and Singapore.
The relief items include kitchen kits, shelter repair kits, family food packs, medical supplies, and clean water.
