Although BRP Antonio Luna (FF151) is at Singapore for the ASEAN-India Maritime Exercise (AIME) 2023, this was never a hindrance to put the Filipino culture on spotlight during the Warship Cocktails held at Changi Naval Base last week.

The Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, His Excellency Medardo Macaraig, with the PH Navy Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr PN, graced the occasion aboard BRP Antonio Luna.

Other notable high-profile visitors include other ASEAN member-country’s envoys to Singapore, counterpart Chief of Navies, flag rank officers, and senior leaders of the Philippine Navy.

Likewise, visitors from various foreign Navy vessels and Filipinos living in Singapore joined the event and mingled with the ship’s crew.

Aside from the delicious Filipino cuisine that delighted the tastebuds of the visitors, one of the cocktail’s highlights was the dancing of the famous Filipino folk dance Tinikling, gracefully performed by the ship’s officers and crew.

This occasion served as an opportunity to display the unique culture of the Philippines and foster the national pride among the Filipinos in Singapore.
