FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army through the 1st Brigade Combat Team (1BCT) together with the Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) or the Indonesian Army, kicked off the 3rd iteration of TA PHILINDO STRIKE III-2023 last week at Aula Daan Mogot, 13th Military Area Command, Tomohon City, Manado, Indonesia.
TA PHILINDO STRIKE is an annual training activity between the Philippines and Indonesia that aims to strengthen both Armies’ cooperation and enhance their capabilities in terrorism management handling systems through Staff Exercise (STAFFEX), Table Top Exercise (TTX), and Rehearse on Concept (ROC) drill method.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded the 1BCT on their successful participation with the Indonesian Army which enhanced their competence and aptitude in the Joint Planning Process that would train both Armies’ methodical approach for contingencies and execution of their plans and orders.
Meanwhile , the Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL) of the Philippine Navy will participate in Exercise LUMBAS 2023 from July 18 to 22, 2023. The exercise will commence at NOB Subic. This annual activity between the Philippine Navy and Royal Australian Navy aims to sustain, strengthen military relationships, and enhance interoperability between the two navies.
Exercise LUMBAS 2023, now on its 23rd iteration, seeks to deepen interoperability between the Philippine Navy and Royal Australian Navy. During the exercise, navy-to-navy engagements will take place both at sea and during port visits, according to Navy Capt Benjo Negranza, Naval Public Affair Office chief .
Further, Exercise LUMBAS 2023 will form as one of the contributions of NFNL to NOLCOM’s Military-to-Military Diplomacy and Legal line of efforts which plays a vital role in bolstering defense capabilities in support of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) campaign in Northern Luzon.
This collaborative endeavor brings together the military forces of allied nations to work in unison, encompassing the development of strategic plans, implementation of combined protocols and rules of engagement, and capacitating forces for joint and combined operations to promote regional stability and shared maritime interests.
By undertaking these concerted actions, Exercise LUMBAS seeks to fortify the security landscape while fostering greater cooperation among participating nations, Capt Negranza added.
