Philippine Army and Australian Army trained together in practical combat and medical training drills to mark the mid-phase of Exercise Kasangga at Camp Kibaritan in Bukidnon.
Philippine Army troops and their Australian counterparts focused on the real-time evaluation of their interoperability, operational readiness and tactical capabilities in conducting the said drills. Core components of this phase include Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) simulations aimed at developing the soldiers’ proficiency in executing life-saving interventions during combat operations. Training participants also conducted a series of practical medical exercises such as battlefield triage and casualty evacuation under fire and treatment of critical injuries.
PA and Australian Army training contingents also sharpened their combat skills by conducting small-unit maneuvers, counter-ambush drills and tactical coordination in both urban and rural settings to assess their adaptability and unit cohesion under high-stress conditions.
The 2025 iteration of Exercise Kasangga, which means “ally” or “partner” in Filipino, challenges the participating troops’ skills and expertise while enhancing their knowledge of each other’s tactics, techniques and procedures.
