The Philippine-Australia (PH-AUS) Exercise Carabaroo 2024 kicked into high gear as the 125-strong Philippine Army delegation and their Australian Army counterparts commenced their deployment for the coastal (littoral) defense activity in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
Exercise Carabaroo is part of the broader Exercise Predator’s Run 2024 which is dubbed as the Australian Army’s most significant littoral training activity of the year. Army and Marines contingents from the United States, United Kingdom, and Timor Leste are also taking part in the said exercise which tests the concept of employment of a Light Littoral Brigade at Australia’s northern coast.
Carabaroo derived its name from the combination of the Philippine carabao and the Australian kangaroo. The said annual bilateral exercise bolsters the interoperability between the land forces of the Philippines and Australia.
