BALI, Indonesia — The Philippine Navy proudly participated in the 5th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) 2025, which officially commenced on February 16, 2025, with a grand Opening Ceremony at the Port of Benoa, Bali, Indonesia. The event brought together representatives from 31 participating navies, reinforcing multilateral cooperation and regional maritime security efforts.
The Philippine Navy delegation, led by Rear Admiral Joe Anthony C. Orbe PN, Commander of the Philippine Fleet and Head of Delegation, together with the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Colonel Emerson M. Delos Santos PN(M)(GSC), and Commander of Naval Task Group 84, Captain Malone B. Agudelo PN(GSC), stood alongside esteemed naval leaders from around the world. The ceremony highlighted the importance of maritime collaboration in maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Following the Opening Ceremony, the Philippine Navy took part in the prestigious International Fleet Review (IFR), a showcase of naval presence and capability among participating countries. BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS16) proudly represented the Philippines in the naval formation, demonstrating the PN’s commitment to regional security, interoperability, and strengthening naval diplomacy with allied and partner nations. The IFR featured an impressive display of naval assets, symbolizing the collective resolve of nations in safeguarding maritime interests.
To cap off the day’s engagements, the Philippine Navy delegation attended the Welcome Dinner hosted at the Official Residence of the Governor of Bali, His Excellency I Wayan Koster. The event provided a platform for senior naval leaders to foster camaraderie, engage in high-level discussions, and enhance international cooperation in maritime security.
The PN delegation, alongside counterparts from other participating navies, exchanged insights and reaffirmed their shared commitment to upholding peace and stability at sea.
