Tukoy na ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang ilang “personS of interest” kaugnay sa pagpaslang kay Atty. Maria Saniata Liwliwa Gonzales Alzate sa harap ng kanyang bahay sa Bangued, Abra.
Ito ang inihayag ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, matapos na atasan ang NBI na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa ginawang pagpaslang sa abogada.
“NBI is already on the scene, and we now have suspects. We are also in contact with her husband. The NBI is leading the charge on this investigation. They’ve combed through all available CCTV footage. They are the first responders. We have suspects,” ayon kay Remulla.
“The most effective way to resolve crimes is by prosecuting the suspects, holding them accountable. We need to apprehend and prosecute the responsible parties and inform the public who is behind these actions, ” dagdag pa ni Remulla.
Nabatid na alas- 4:55 ng hapon nang ideklarang patay si Alzate matapos pagbabarilin ng mga suspek habang sakay ng kanyang kulay puting Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan na may plakang AVA 6533 na nakaparada sa kanyang bahay sa Santiago Street, Zone 3, Bangued.
Si Alzate ay binaril umano nang malapitan ng walong beses nang hindi nakikilalang mga suspek.
Naisugod pa ang biktima sa Dr. Petronilo V. Seares Sr. Memorial Hospital pero binawian rin ng buhay.
Nabatid na si Alzate ay may bahay ni dating acting Presiding Judge Raphiel F. Alzate ng Regional Trial Court Branch 24 sa Cabugao, Ilocos Sur at RTC Branch 58 sa Bucay, Abra.
