Charges for violation of Article 155 (Alarm and Scandal) of the Revised Penal Code were filed before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office by the Manila Police District (MPD) against a personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The suspect identified as Jasper, 25, assigned at the PCG Parola Base in Tondo, Manila and residing on Gallego Street in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, was reportedly drinking with his companions at around 2 a.m. when he suddenly stood up, drew his service firearm and then pointed it to one of his drinking mates.
The incident happened at the corner of Delpan and San Luis Streets in Brgy 16, Tondo, Manila and was seen by some residents who panicked and immediately reported the matter to the police.
The PCG personnel was nabbed by MPD-Police Station 2 operatives who responded to the scene and placed under the custody of the Manila Police District-General Assignment and Investigation Section (MPD-GAIS).
The firearm he used, was loaded when confiscated by the MPD cops who nabbed him.
