Umalis na sa bansa si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos , Jr.para.dumalo sa Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2022 (APEC) Leaders’ Summit sa Thailand mula.Nobyembre 18-19.
Bukod sa summit na dadaluhan ng mga lider mula sa 21 miyembro kasama na ang Pilipinas ay may anim na bilateral meetings na dadaluhan si Marcos.
Umaasa si Marcos na ang kanyang pakikilahok sa APEC summit at sa iba pang pulong ay magbubunga gaya ng napag-usapan nila ng ibang lider sa 40th at 41st ASEAN Summits at kahalintulad na Summits sa Cambodia noong nakalipas na linggo.
“I hope to build upon the discussions that we had during the ASEAN Summit. There are many, as I mentioned when I first arrived from Cambodia, from Phnom Penh, it is very clear that there are many areas of consensus between our countries in the Asia-Pacific, Indo-Pacific region, and that is what I hope to build on,” ayon sa departure speech ni Marcos.
“We have established that those are the common concerns of all the leaders, of all the countries around the region, and I am hoping now to put some meat on those very preliminary discussions that we have had. I believe that that is also what other leaders are intending to do, and I hope to report good progress when I come back from Bangkok,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo.
Napag-alaman na dala ni Marcos ang kanyang pangarap na magkaroon ng “peaceful and prosperous Asia-Pacific region. ”
