Hindi pinalampas ni Vice President at Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte ang pagsuporta ng Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) sa ikinakasang isang linggong transport strike ng ilang transport group, bilang pagtutol sa isinusulong na Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program ng pamahalaan.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Linggo, sinabi ni Duterte na ang nangungunang agenda ng DepEd ngayon ay ang learning recovery at hindi aniya kasama dito ang ‘pointless’ o walang kabuluhang welga sa transportasyon na sinusuportahan ng ACT.
Binigyang-diin ng bise presidente na ang transport strike ay isang ‘masakit na panghihimasok’ sa mga pagsisikap ng DepEd na magbigay ng mga solusyon sa mga problemang bumabagabag sa sistema ng edukasyon at magpapalala lamang sa kahirapan sa pag-aaral ng mga mag-aaral.
“Learning recovery is foremost on the agenda of the Department of Education today. It does not include the pointless weeklong transport strike supported by ACT,” aniya.
“The transport strike is a painful interference in our efforts to provide solutions to the problems besetting our education system and will only exacerbate the learning hardships of our students,” dagdag pa ng DepEd Secretary.
Binigyang-diin pa ni Duterte na ang tahasang pagsuporta ng ACT sa naturang transport strike ay pagkakanulo lamang sa kanilang tunay na kulay, o isang grupo na hindi talaga nagsisilbi sa interes ng mga estudyante at guro.
“ACT supporting this transport strike, and shamelessly harping twisted justifications for it, only betrays its true colors — that it is a group that does not really serve the interest of students and teachers,” pahayag pa niya.
Dagdag pa ni Duterte, dapat malaman ng ACT na ang isang linggong transport strike ay kritikal na puntong ito at isang paggambala sa kanilang mga pagsisikap na maremedyuhan ang mga naging kakulangan sa pag-aaral ng mga estudyante noong panahon ng pandemya.
Dismayado rin si Duterte dahil ipinakita aniya ng ACT na wala silang pakialam kung mahadlangan man ang mga pagsisikap ng ahensiya o mabigo man sila, dahil bilang tagasuporta aniya ng mga walang kwentang ideolohiyang itinataguyod ng New People’s Army, Communist Party of the Philippines, at National Democratic Front of the Philippines, ang pangarap aniya ng ACT ay manatiling walang pinag-aralan at mahirap ang ating mga anak.
“ACT should know that a weeklong transport strike, at this critical point in our efforts to remedy learning losses, is a learning disruption,” pahayag pa ni Duterte.
“But ACT couldn’t care less if our efforts are hampered or if we fail because — as a lover of the useless ideologies espoused by the New People’s Army, the Communist Party of the Philippines, and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines — ACT’s dream is for our children to remain uneducated and poor,” aniya.
Nanindigan rin naman ang bise presidente na sa buong panahon ng protestang ito na, aniya, ay inspirado ng komunista, kailangang ipatupad ang personal at alternatibong paraan ng paghahatid ng pag-aaral, kung alinman ang maginhawa para sa mga mag-aaral.
Hinamon pa niya ang ACT na ipakita ang sinseridad sa sektor na dapat itong paglingkuran, at ito ang mga mag-aaral, ang mga guro, at ang buong sistema ng edukasyon sa Pilipinas, sa pamamagitan ng pakikipagtulungan sa mga Local Government Units (LGUs) at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno upang matiyak ang kaginhawahan ng mga mag-aaral sa panahon ng transport strike, sa halip na suportahan ito.
“I maintain that during this communist-inspired weeklong strike, both in-person and alternative delivery modes of learning shall be implemented, whichever is convenient to the learners,” ani Duterte.
“I challenge ACT to show its sincerity to the sector it is supposed to serve — the students, the teachers, and the entire Philippine education system — by working with Local Government Units and other government agencies to ensure the convenience of learners during the transport strike instead of supporting it,” pagtatapos pa niya.
