PAF CONTINGENT SET TO GIVE AID TO QUAKE-STRICKEN TURKEY

The Commanding General, Philippine Air Force, LTGen. Stephen Parreno led the send-off ceremony for the 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG) contingent composed of 12 highly-trained responders on Collapsed Structure Search & Rescue (CSSR) Operations, at 505th SRG Hangar, CJVAB, Pasay City.

The CG, PAF was joined during the send off by MGen.Joannis Leonardi Dimaano PAF, Commander, Air Mobility Command, Philippine Air Force.

The PAF rescuers are part of the AFP contingent and the inter-agency rescue team from the Republic of the Philippines set to give aid to Turkey as the death toll and number of injured individuals continue to rise after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake wrecked the southern part of Turkey and northern part of Syria.


During the ceremony, the 505th SRG had an equipment inspection to ensure its operational readiness.

Further, Parreno sends the PAF rescuers off with a snappy salute and prayer for their 2-week noble mission, “You are already heroes. Carry the flag proud as you go off to help our Turkish brothers and sisters.” the CG, PAF, stated in his message.
