PAF AND PACAF INAUGURATE NEW FUEL STORAGE FACILITY AT CEBU AIR BASE

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) strengthened their enduring partnership with the Turnover and Blessing Ceremony of the newly completed Fuel Storage Facility at Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on January 30, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by General Kevin B Schneider, Commander of PACAF and Major General Ramil G Oloroso PAF, Commander of the PAF’s Air Mobility Command.

Built by Himalayan Builders and Engineers Pvt. Ltd. and ACE Builders, the newly constructed facility features two above-ground storage tanks, each with a capacity of 75,708 liters. It also features a modern fuel handling system, a covered parking area for refueling trucks, and a secured perimeter, designed and constructed compliant to security and safety standards. The project construction started on June 22, 2022 and was completed on September 06, 2024.


This project, undertaken under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), will significantly improve the PAF’s fuel storage and distribution capabilities, enhancing operational readiness and logistical efficiency. It will support humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations, strengthen national defense capabilities, and sustain a wide range of PAF flying missions, including airlift, internal security, and territorial defense operations, thereby reinforcing the Air Force’s ability to respond to various operational demands.

In his message, Major General Oloroso emphasized the critical importance of the new facility in bolstering the PAF’s ability to effectively carry out its missions. He expressed his gratitude for the continued support and partnership with PACAF and for the completion of the EDCA project, which remains instrumental in facilitating cooperation in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations, strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, and promoting regional security.


General Schneider was warmly welcomed by Major General Oloroso at Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base.
