Drug operatives from the Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA, in cooperation with NAIA-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a consignee and claimant of a parcel containing some 13, 175 grams of shabu amounting to P89.590 million pesos in a controlled delivery.
A parcel from Nigeria shipped by a certain Michael Olanrewaju of 33 Wale Alomo Street Ogba Yaya Abatan, Lagos State Ogba, Nigeria declared as “snacks” consigned to a certain Jolle Ann Cuer y Trimona of TS Cruz Subdivision Las Pinas City and arrived at the DHL warehouse in Pasay City.
The parcel when examined contains 44 foil pouches each pouch contains white crystalline substance which later found to be shabu after PDEA laboratory testing.
A team from BOC NAIA CAIDTF, PDEA and NAIA-IADITG operatives performed a controlled delivery operation which resulted in the eventual arrest of the claimant on January 11, 2023.
The arrested claimant is currently undergoing custodial investigation of PDEA for initiation of corresponding inquest proceedings for the violation of RA 9165 also known as the Anti-illegal Drugs Act and RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization Act (CMTA).
BOC Port of NAIA, under the leadership of Commissioner Yogi Filemon L.
