P7.5M worth of imported shabu intercepted at Port of Clark

Authorities seized approximately 1.112 kilograms of imported methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P7,561.000 were seized during an interdiction operation at the Port of Clark last May 8, 2025.

The illegal substances were packed and concealed in a vacuum cleaner and rice cooker.


” The package containing illegal drugs originated from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and arrived at the port on May 6, 2025″, the PDEA Clark chief said.

The Bureau of Customs examiner discovered the suspicious package during an x-ray examination. A subsequent physical examination, as confirmed by PDEA K-9 inspection, yielded positive results.

Authorities confiscated the following items: one vacuum cleaner labeled as Philips power pro compact containing more or less 538 grams of shabu and one rice cooker containing approximately 574 grams of shabu. Samples of the seized crystal meth will be sent to PDEA RO 3 laboratory for forensic examination and confirmation.


The successful operation was through the combined efforts of PDEA Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group ( CRK IADITG), Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3, and Drug Enforcement Group.
