Umaabot sa P5.2 bilyong pisong halaga ng iligal na droga ang sinira ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa Integrated Waste Management Inc., (IWMI), Barangay Aguado, Trece Martires City, Cavite kahapon.
Sinaksihan mismo ang pagwasak ng iligal na droga nina Secretary Oscar Valenzuela, chairman ng Dangerous Drugs Board o DDB, mga opisyal ng Philippine National Police at iba pang law enforcement agencies, Department of Justice (DOJ) at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), non-government organizations at media partners, kung saan mahigit 2,000 kilo ng solid illegal drugs at mahigit 3,000 milliliters ng liquid illegal drugs ang winasak sa thermal decomposition o thermolysis.
Kabilang sa mga winasak ang mahigit 700 kilograms ng shabu; 1,478.4915 kilograms ng marijuana; 4.8668 kilograms ng ecstasy; 39.2168 grams ng cocaine; 2.2116 grams ng toluene; 6.1516 grams ng ketamine; 5.5100 grams ng phenacetin; 1.0400 gram ng lsd; 2,000 ml. ng liquid cocaine; 49.0420 ml. ng liquid meth; 1,398.05 ml. ng liquid marijuana; at iba’t- ibang na- surrender na expired medicines.
Ang nasa P5.32 bilyong halaga ng illegal na droga ay nakumpiska sa iba’t- ibang anti-narcotics operation ng PDEA at iba pang partner agencies. Ito rin umano ang ‘first destruction ceremony’ na isinagawa mula ng nang manungkulan si Undersecretary Nerez bilang PDEA Director General may tatlong buwan na ang nakalipas, ayon kay Director Laurefel P Gabales, Chief ng PDEA Public Information Office.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng PDEA na may kabuuang 2,227.7584 kg. ng solid illegal drugs at 3,447.0920 ml. ng liquid illegal drugs ang sinira sa pamamagitan ng thermal decomposition o thermolysis.
Bahagi ng mga sinirang kontrabando ay ang 404.9515 kg. ng shabu na nasamsam sa interdiction operation sa Port of Manila noong Enero 23.
Ayon kay PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez, layon ng pagsira na alisin ang ispekulasyon na ang mga nakukumpiskang illegal na droga ay nire-recycle o ibinebenta sa illegal drug market.
“Stacked inside a chamber, the dangerous drugs were burned beyond recovery,” paliwanag ni Usec ni Nerez.
“PDEA promotes transparency where its actions are open to the Filipino people as advocated under the ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ program led by His Excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The public deserves nothing less than our utmost diligence and integrity” dagdag pa ni Nerez.
