NATIMBOG ng mga awtoridad ang paggamit ng mga drug syndicate ng private at commercial self-storage facility kasunod ng isinagawang pagsalakay ng Bureau of Custom Intelligence Unit at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency sa isinagawang anti narcotics operation sa West Bicutan, Taguig City.
Nakumpiska ng mga tauhan ng BOC at PDEA ang sari-saring illegal drugs at mga drug paraphernalia mula sa sinalakay na commercial self-storage facility sa Western Bicutan.
Ang mga self-storage facilities ay paboritong rentahan ng ilang indibidwal dahil mayroon itong enclosed at secure storage rooms para maitago pansamantala ang kanilang mga pag-aari na nauna ng nauso sa ibang bansa.
Nabatid sa ulat na sinumite kay BOC Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz na sa bisa ng isang letter of authority ay sinalakay ng Bureau of Customs-Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, PDEA Intelligence Service and Investigation Service, at PDEA Special Enforcement Service K9 Unit ang nasabing commercial self-storage facility katuwang ang local PNP.
Nakumpiska sa operation ang may 500 grams ng suspected cocaine na may estimated value na ?2.65 million; sari-saring E-cigarette o vape cartridges na may kargang suspected marijuana oil; tinatayang 30 gramo ng suspected kush marijuana na may estimated value na P45,000.
Nakuha rin sa nasabing pasilidad ang transparent glass at plastic tube containers na naglalaman ng marijuana oil; iba’t ibang ziplock bags na may mga latak o residue ng mga suspected illegal drugs; mga assorted drug paraphernalia; at iba’t ibang identification cards.
Inihahanda na ng PDEA ang kasong paglabag sa sections 11 at 12 ng Article 2 ng R.A. 9165 laban sa mga may-ari ng naturang mga illegal drugs.
“Armed with a Letter of Authority signed by Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, the team coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and visited a storage facility in East Service Road, Taguig City on November 22,” anang BOC.
