ITINATAYANG lagpas sa P1.4 bilyong halaga ng imported luxury cars ang nadiskubre ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa Pasay at Parañaque.
Kabilang sa mga nakitang naka-bodegang imported luxury vehicles ang mamahaling Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maybach at Maserati sa sinalakay na bodega sa Pasay City at Parañaque City ng mga tauhan ng BOC- Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) kamakalawa.
Sa pananaliksik ng BOC-CIIS ay natiktikan nila ang umano’y mga smuggled luxury vehicles na ibinebenta online, ayon sa mga impormasyong nakalap mula sa kanilang mga sources kaya’t agad na naglatag ng confirmation and validation ang kanilang mga ahente.
Tinukoy ng Aduana ang mga sellers ng mga hinihinalang puslit na imported luxury caras na AC Che Gong Miao sa Pasay City at TopCar Specialist and Trading Corp. sa Parañaque City.
“This operation signals a new approach in the BOC’s operational strategies in going after smugglers and ensuring collection of rightful revenues due the government. It sends a message to all importers who think they’re already safe after their products have entered Philippine territory thru illegal forms and means,” ayon sa BOC.
“ We want them to know that we have eyes everywhere. We are not stopping, and we are not slowing down. We’re always one step ahead of them,” babala ni BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
Kinumpirma ni CIIS Director Verne Enciso na nasa loob ng mga warehouses ang mga kotse ng sumalakay ang mga tauhan ng BOC-CIIS sa AC Che Gong Miao at TopCar Specialist and Trading Inc. at isilbi ang hawak nilang Letters of Authority (LOAs) at Mission Orders (MOs) sa mga kinatawan ng kumpanya.
“When we received the tip about these vehicles early this month, we immediately verified the information and processed the issuance of the appropriate orders to conduct the operation,” ani Director Enciso.
Ayon kay Director Enciso, ilang sa mga sikat na brand ng kotse na nakita sa loob ng AC Che Gong Miao sa Pasay City ay ilang unit ng Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini McLaren, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Mercedez Benz, Maybach, Range Rover, Bentley, Alphard, at Jeep Wrangler.
Habang sa TopCar Specialist and Trading Inc. sa Parañaque City, ay nadiskubre naman ang Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Ferrari SF90 Stradale at Mansory, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Maybach at BMW.
Pahayag ni Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Group Juvymax, “If found without proper documents, they will face charges in violation of Sections 1400, 1401 in relation to Section 1113 of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).”
Tinitiyak BOC na mananatili silang naka-alerto sa lahat ng uri ng smuggling activities habang tumutupad sila sa kanilang mandato nang naayon sa “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign ni President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
