OTS CLARIFIES ALLEGED ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT OF OTS EMPLOYEE

The Office of Transportation Security (OTS) clarified the alleged illegal recruitment done by an OTS employee which aired in a radio program recently.

OTS spokesperson Kim Marquez said the attention has been drawn to an alleged illegal recruitment by an OTS employee identified as Nelly Dimaano which she allegedly collected P25,000 each for 27 applicants.

Dimaano is a former Transport Security Accreditation and Training Management Service of OTS until she went on indefinite leave of absence before the illegal activities were discovered.

In the said episode, the sweeping allegations against Dimaano were uncontroverted. She even deliberately admitted that she had in fact received money in exchange for placing the victims under the employ of the OTS.

The OTS management has since conducted an investigation to uncover those involved in the scheme and made its stand to put a stop to such practice, which it considers to be both patently and grossly immoral and illegal.

The OTS will never ever allow anybody intending to flout the law, much more so that it drags the whole agency, resulting in diminished public confidence in OTS.

We shall file cases against those officers and personnel involved and guilty of such gross misconduct, and make sure that appropriate safeguards will be implemented to prevent similar incidents, Marquez added.

The OTS also advises the public to submit their job applications directly to the OTS Human Resource Section – Administrative and Finance Service through e-mail address: hr@ots.gov.ph.

We encourage the public to report any instance of similar illegal recruitment activities to the Office of the Administrator, through the Public Affairs Division, at e-mail address: pio@ots.gov.ph. (JERRY S. TAN)
