PINAHINTO ng Supreme Court (SC) ang Commission on Election(Comelec) sa isinasagawang “Oplan Baklas” sa mga over size campaign posters sa mga pribadong lugar matapos na mag-isyu ng temporary restraining order (tro).
Sa en banc resolution ng SC , inatasan nito si spokesperson James Jimenez na mag komento sa loob ng 10 matapos na matanggap ang notice ng SC.
Una nang nagpasaklolo sa SC ang mga supporter ni presidential candidate at Vice President Leni Robredo nanpigilan ang Comelec sa pagbaklas ng mga campaign posters na nakalagay sa mga pribadong ari-arian.
Ito umano ay paglabag sa Saligang Batas para sa free expression at malayang pamamahayag.
“The petitioners sought the issuance of a TRO, while the resolution of the petition is pending, prohibiting the Respondents from implementing Section 21 (o), Section 24, and Section 26 of the COMELEC Resolution No. 10730 with respect to the poll body’s order to dismantle, remove, destroy, deface, and/or confiscate all election materials that are privately owned and privately funded solely by volunteers and private citizens and posted and/or installed within their private properties,” nakasaad sa resolusyon ng SC.
Sinabi ng.mga petisyuner na sakop lamang ng resolusyon ang mga kandisato at political.parties at hindi ang pribadong indibiduwal. (Jaymel Manuel)
