After figuring in a road accident in Antipolo last August 23, the driver’s license of actor actor Niño Muhlach was suspended by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for a peeriod of 90 days.
It was learned that the actor surrendered his license during his scheduled hearing on Tuesday at the LTO and the suspension is pending the resolution of the case.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said Muhlach admitted that he fell asleep on the wheel.
A man said to be having a meal at an eatery was injured as Muhlach’s vehicle rammed a row of establishments in the said area.
Lacanilao said:”Inamin niya ‘yung pagkakasala niya kasi sa pagod nung araw na ‘yon, siya ‘yung nagmaneho. So, hindi niya kinaya kaya naaksidente.”
Muhlach amicably settled with those who were adversely affected by the accident .Lacanilao clarified that the suspension is not yet the final penalty, as the agency’s resolution on the case is still pending.
Just the same, Lacanilao said the LTO must still enforce its standard procedure for drivers involved in road incidents.
“…Pagka nai-involve sa mga ganitong aksidente, sikat man o hindi, artista man o ordinaryong mamamayan, nagkakaroon ng mga suspension..,” he said.
