Bagong Calarian, Zamboanga City – Rear Admiral Caesar Bernard N. Valencia PN, Vice Commander of the Philippine Navy, spearheaded the traditional Christmas visit to Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), last weekend.
Accompanied by members of the HPN staff, the Vice Commander was warmly welcomed by Rear Admiral Donn Anthony L. Miraflor PN, Commander of NFWM, along with key members of the Command Team and selected staff officers.
During the visit, RADM Valencia paid a special visit to the Marine troops of the 1st Marine Brigade situated in Sitio Bombaran, Barangay Togaig, Barira, Maguindanao. Brigadier General Eric A. Macaambac PN(M), Commander of the 1st Marine Brigade, received the Vice Commander with honors.
The visit was marked by a Wreath Laying Ceremony, followed by a vibrant Christmas Program, where Operationally Controlled (OPCON) Units of the Brigade presented their unique Christmas offerings to the Vice Commander. A lively Christmas Raffle added to the festivities.
Continuing the holiday visit on November 28, 2023, RADM Valencia engaged with personnel from HQS NFWM, including Fleet-Marine Officers, Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Human Resources, Commanding Officers of OPCON, and Tenant Units at the Tangan Gym. As part of the celebration, the Command, in collaboration with CSB and NIF-WM, showcased special Christmas Intermission numbers, followed by a raffle for personnel across the three Units.
Vice Commander Valencia emphasized, “The true essence of Christmas lies in giving and sharing our blessings with others.”
Subsequently, RADM Valencia proceeded to visit the Marine troops of the 2nd Marine Brigade (2MBde) stationed at Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, where he was received by its Commander, Brigadier General Romeo T. Racadio PN(M).
“On behalf of the Navy Leadership, I commend our Fleet-Marine troops deployed here in Western Mindanao for their gallant achievements. I also extend yuletide greetings and gifts to everyone deserving in this festive season,” said RADM Valencia in appreciation.
