Bagong Calarian, Zamboanga City – The Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), through its operating units while conducting Maritime Patrol, intercepted a vessel transporting a substantial quantity of undocumented cigarettes with an estimated market value of Php 106,324,000, in the sea waters off Baturapac Island, Tandubas, Tawi-Tawi
Accordingly, the apprehending team conducted Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure Operations on board MB Indah Nadz, manned by 12 crew onboard at the vicinity northeast off Baturapac Island. The inspection of the said motorized bangka led to the discovery of 2,798 master cases of undocumented tobacco products.
The watercraft was then provided with a prize crew and was escorted to Bongao Pier, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, along with the apprehended personalities and seized items. Thereafter, the authorities, after proper coordination, turned over the same to the custody of the Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Tawi-Tawi for appropriate disposition.
