Former President Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential elections.
Trump is the first former President to have been convicted of criminal charges.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for the November US elections, blasted the decision , campaigns again for the White House.
Twelve New York jurors on Thursday unanimously agreed that Trump falsified business records to conceal a $130,000 hush money payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels to influence the 2016 contest.
Speaking to reporters after emerging from the courtroom, Trump said what happened was a “rigged, disgraceful trial” saying that the “real verdict” will be on Election Day, as he continues his campaign for a Presidential comeback.
New York Judge Juan Merchan set the sentencing for July 11.
Trump faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison and his lawyers are expected to appeal the conviction.
