Nagkasundo ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at ang Chinese counterpart nito na.mag-usap sa posilibilidad na pagtutulungan .
Ito ay matapos ang courtesy visit ni PCG Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian kay PCG Commandant Admiral Artemio Abu.
Sinabi ni Abu na layunin ng pagbisita na magsagawa ng “review friendly exchanges and cooperation” sa PCG at China Coast Guard (CCG).
“We look forward to exchanging views on possible capacity-building activities between the CCG and PCG to strengthen rapport and confidence among the Philippine Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard to promote peace and stability in the region,” ayon kay Abu sa isang Facebook post.
Sinabi ni Huang na inaasahan niya na magiging mabunga ang pag-uusap ng magkabilang panig.
“I sincerely hope that the PCG and CCG would further strengthen cooperation to promote peace and stability in the region,” dagdag ni Huang.
Ang pagbisita ay ginawa ni Huang sa harap nang inihain na diplomatic pritest ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) laban sa China kaugnay sa annual fishing ban ng China sa South China Sea sa mga sakop na lugar sa covering areas Philippines’ exclusive economic zone. (Jaymel Manuel)
