MEDAL OF VALOR AWARDEE ANG BAGONG AFP CHIEF OF STAFF

HINIRANG ni Pangulong Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr., na bagong chief of staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippine ang “Medal of Valor” awardee at kasalukuyang AFP Southern Luzon Command chief Lt Gen. Bartolome VO Bacarro.

“The change of command for the new AFP chief of staff will be on August 8. This will give time for Gen. Bacarro to wind down at the SOLCOM and provide him with the transition to his new position in Camp Aguinaldo,” ayon sa inilbas na pahayag ng Malcañang.

Si Bacarro ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy, PMA “Maringal” Class of 1988 na mistah ni Gen. Centno.

Nabataid na si Gen Bacarro ang kauna unahang military general at chief of Staff na pagkakalooban ng fix three years term base sa inaprubahan Republic Act 1709 ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Magugunitang nilagdaan ni dating Pangulong Duterte ang Republic Act 11709, na mayroong fixed three-year tour of duty para sa AFP chief of staff, vice chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, major service commanders (Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy), unified command commanders, at inspector general maliban na lang kung iti-terminate ng Pangulo.

“Based on RA 11709, Gen. Bacarro will be the first CSAFP to be given a fixed three-year term,” pahayag ni Press Secretary Trixie Angeles.

(VICTOR BALDEMOR)
