NAIA, NAGTALA NG PINAKAMATAAS NA PASSENGER TRAFFIC RECORD SA 2025

By: Jerry S. Tan

Nagtala ang Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ng ‘highest annual passenger traffic in 2025’.

Ayon kay general manager Lito Alvarez ngNew NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), ang private operator ng main gateway sa bansa, ang passenger traffic ay umabot sa 52.02 million nitong 2025, “the highest annual total recorded for the airport, reflecting sustained demand for air travel and increased airport activity.”

“December was the busiest month in NAIAs history, with 4.86 million passengers. International travelers accounted for 2.367 million of the total, a monthly high, while domestic passengers reached 2.495 million, the second-largest monthly volume recorded. The figures represent total airport activity across domestic, outbound and returning Filipino travel, business travel, and connecting traffic,” ani Alvarez.

Sa kabila umano ng taas ng passenger volumes ay naging matatag ang airport operations sa peak periods at suportado ng operational improvements na ipinatupad sa buong taon.

“These included the rollout of new biometric immigration e-Gates funded by NNIC, upgrades to passenger processing systems and terminal facilities and closer coordination among airlines, government agencies, and airport stakeholders. Managing higher passenger volumes requires both infrastructure and close coordination,” NNIC said. “The focus has been on improving flow, reducing bottlenecks, and ensuring the airport can handle peak demand more effectively,” saad ni Alvarez.

Dagdag pa niya:”Throughout 2025, NNIC implemented passenger-centric initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, safety, and the overall airport experience, while working closely with government partners to support smoother end-to-end travel. NAIA serves as the Philippines’ primary aviation hub, handling domestic and international operations. Under the public-private partnership, NNIC is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and modernization of the airport, while ownership remains with the government.
