A man pretending to be a Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) enforcer was arrested by real enforcers.

MTPB Chief Dennis Viaje HAS ordered the filing of charges against the suspect for violation of Article 177 (Usurpation of Authority and Official Functions) and Article 179 (Illegal Use of Uniform or Insignia) of the Revised Penal Code before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect, Marc Leonard Arquero, 39 of No. 311 Inocencio Street Brgy. 95 Tondo, Manila, was arrested while posing as a legitimate traffic enforcer.

He was reportedly flagging down motorists the other night at the corner of Road10 and Jacinto Northbound in Barangay 100 in Tondo, Manila when nabbed by MTPB enforcers Kenneth Naval , Oscar de Leon and Marvin Manuel.

Naval said they saw the suspect at around 6:30 p.m. in the said area wearing a uniform of the MTPB while flagging down motorists.

When they approached the suspect and demanded an identification card, he failed to show any, so that they had him arrested right there and then.

They were brought to the Smokey Mountain Police Community Precinct for processing.
