By: Victor Baldemor Ruiz

Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim and Presidential Peace Adviser Sec. Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. visited on Monday, December 4, the victims of Sunday’s Mindanao State University (MSU) bombing incident who are currently recuperating at the Amai Pakpak Medical Center and MSU Infirmary.

Secretary Galvez and Ebrahim checked on the health condition of the victims, as they assured them of the national and regional government’s full support.

Ebrahim committed to shoulder all medical expenses of the victims and ensure continuing support. Ebrahim is accompanied by Maguindanao del Norte Governor Abdulrauf Macacua, Ministry of Social Services and Development Atty. Raissa Jajurie, Ministry of Health Minister Dr. Rizaldy Piang, Minister Paisalin Tago of the Ministry of Transportation and Communication and some members of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

Galvez and Ebrahim also met with Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal Adiong, Jr. to discuss ways on strengthening peace and security efforts in the province and throughout the Bangsamoro region to prevent such attacks from happening.

After this Galvez also visited the 103rd Brigade to meet with ground commanders and get first hand assessment of the situation after the blast.

It can be recalled that Sec Galvez strongly condemns the bombing incident at the Mindanao State University, Marawi City, which claimed the lives of four people and wounded scores of others.

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the families of the victims, and to the students and faculty of MSU. May you have the strength and courage to cope with the painful loss of your loved ones and carry on in the face of this immense tragedy.

Such a barbaric act has no room in a humane civilized, peaceful society. Rest assured that the Marcos Administration will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to the bar of justice.
