Manila Mayor Isko Moreno called on the public to continue being very careful against letting their guards down and to continue observing basic health protocols against COVID-19 since we are still in a pandemic.
“DI pa po nili-lift ni Pangulong Duterte ang ating state of emergency health situation,” he said.
Moreno said that the active cases in the city and elsewhere are registering an increase, although they are still relatively low compared to before.
It was learned that the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital which has a bed capacity of 344 currently has an occupancy rate of only four percent meaning only 14 beds are occupied.
The six city-owned hospitals on the other hand, have an occupancy rate of only two percent, meaning only seven out of the total 353 hospital beds are currently occupied.
Swab tests, Moreno said, are still being given free of charge to those who need them, whether Manila residents or not.
As of now, the total individuals swabbed reached 209,595 and Moreno said such tests will continue to be given for free as long as the city budget allows. (Baby Cuevas)
